Low Ki vs. AJ Styles ROH A Night of Appreciation 4/27/02

I think I liked this better then the last match. The key difference being that this was about half the time of Dragon/Ki and was much better off for it. Maybe they could have cut a little time off and finish it at 15. Still am looking for a bit more substance in ROH 02. You can get away with it in a 3 way but not as much in a singles match. Could be listworthy. Still everything I have seen has at least been very good.

Low Ki vs. Bryan Danielson ROH Round Robin Challenge 3/30/02

I liked this but I didn’t love it. The problems: story and length.  First half was mostly on the mat which I really liked because they were struggling for there counters and transitioned beautifully either by kneeing, kicking, or chopping out. Second half got into generic indy mode which was OK except for the fact that the match had overstayed its welcome at this point. Neither of these halves really advanced a story. Match would have been best served to have been cut by 8 minutes. Match was very good all things considering. May need a rewatch.

Low Ki vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Christopher Daniels ROH The Era of Honor Begins 2/23/02

Most people would say that this match was the first great 3 way dance during the time it came out, I’m here to tell you that this was definitely the best 3 way dance to happen at this point. I wouldn’t call it the best ever because the match does lack a story (it was the first ROH show), but everything was hit very crisply, there was a huge lack of stalling bullshit, and none of the spots came off as convoluted. Well maybe Bryan twisting his body into position for Ki when giving Daniels cattle mutilation, but that Phoenix had to have sucked big time for both. Definitely top 20 for 02.
